Sorting the Beef from the Bull featured on New Food Magazine blog

Last week, New Food Magazine, a magazine targeted at those within Europe’s food and beverage industry, featured a blog post based on our forthcoming book, Sorting the Beef from the Bull. Instead of drawing on food fraud examples we use in the book, the post discusses the grey areas of the food industry where foods are designed to mimic other foods (eg cheese substitutes). With the right purpose, such new foods are breakthrough technologies that give vegans and lactose-intolerant people a topping for their pizza. In the wrong hands, however, they can be agents of deception.
